AI in education researcher and EdTech product designer, Europe and the UAE

I am an AI in education researcher and EdTech product designer, working across Europe and the UAE. My niche is cognitive development and Bildung in AI in education.

Bildung is the lifelong process of maturing into an autonomous, empathetic, and responsible human being, rather than simply memorising facts or training for a job.

I design cognition-safe AI learning products, like my app Stories from Home, and I study how AI is being introduced in schools, with my field research in the UAE and my studies in Europe.

Before my master's degrees, I worked in venture investment, international development and UN youth policy, and I built practical tools for organisations, often with AI, at Lantern Ventures, Sanad Partners and GIZ.

I am a British-Egyptian dual national. I was educated and worked in the UK and Europe from age 18, and I was raised in Egyptian and Arab culture.
